Patrick was born February 11, 1822 in County Clare, Ireland but emigrated, with his parents, in 1825. The family first lived in Montreal and seven years later, moved to Rochester.

Graduating from the Academy in Henrietta in 1838, he began life as a teacher and was eminently successful. In 1844 he married Delia Lord of Mendon.

The Village of Pittsford was incorporated in 1827 and Patrick served as president of the village – similar to the office of Mayor. He, also, was elected Supervisor of the Town of Pittsford from 1865 – 1873. He was an “old school” Democrat.

He was manager of the State Industrial School for 12 years and also served as inspector of the Monroe County Penitentiary for 16 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Malone had six children; 3 boys and 3 girls. The girls married prominent men and remained in the town for their entire lives. Patrick died on July 3, 1899 aged 77.
